The camp experience at Sunnyhill benefits those that attend long after they leave our wilderness retreat.  Camp is a community where individuals can generate greater awareness, understanding and appreciation of themselves, through the activities offered and interaction with their peers.

Our recreational programs give individuals the chance to explore nature with activities such as: float trips, the alpine tower, climbing and rappelling, swimming, boating, or riding the zip line.

Through shared experience, these programs assist individuals with the formation of new friendships and the nurturing of established relationships.  Whether a week or a weekend with Mother Nature – the memories will last a lifetime.

Our multi-national staff hails from six continents to share stories, songs and life experiences from their homelands – providing campers with a unique cultural experience.

Our staff receives specialized training which allows them to provide the level of support requested by the individual or family.  Our summer camp also has a nurse aide on site 24 hours a day to help medication administration and other health needs.

Types of Camps:

Adventure Camp

Our adult adventure camp is a combination of canoeing, fishing, climbing, caving, archery and other activities designed to delight the outdoor enthusiast while allowing for the creature comforts of air conditioning and a warm bed.

We also offer an adult arts festival camp that features all the traditional elements of camp plus an assortment of arts and crafts, music, painting, and dance parties.

Every Day is a Holiday

In addition to all of our traditional camp activities, we celebrate a different American holiday every day for the entire week!

Youth Programs (ages 8-17)

During our summer camp season, we offer a few specialized weeks to our younger campers.  The week is filled with peer oriented adventure activities that our youth campers really respond to.

For some youngsters, it is their first overnight opportunity away from home, and our highly trained staff works effortlessly to make them feel excited and comfortable.

Our week-long camp is packed with excitement from the top of the alpine tower to the heart of an outdoor cave.  All campers have the opportunity to explore the camp countryside, and to challenge their inner strength, taking away new-found skills and friendships.

We provide individual attention through counselor-to-camper ratio options of 1:8, to accommodate the wishes of both families and individuals while ensuring a safe adventure experience for everyone.

**NEW**Day Camp for children ages 8-13.

Sunnyhill is proud to announce the introduction of a new day camp, geared towards children ages 8-13 with developmental disabilities.  This new endeavor was introduced thanks to a generous donation from the Jefferson Foundation, who is fully supportive of programs to further the outreach to children in our communities.

The camp will be held weekdays at Sunnyhill Adventures in Dittmer and include a variety of activities inside our NEW multipurpose building/wellness center as well as outdoor adventures.

The day program is a great introduction to camp for those who may not be quite ready for the overnight experience.  Qualifying siblings are also invited to attend camp, creating opportunities for families to participate together in a welcoming environment.

Cost is only $125/child and includes a snack.  Drop off time is starting at 6:30am with pick-up as late as 6:30pm.  Eight weeks to choose from with four themed camps available:
